Exhibits at the Gdynia Aquarium

The Gdynia Aquarium is one of the largest of its kind in Poland, and it is also the longest-functioning organization involved in collecting and exhibiting aquatic flora and fauna in Poland. Thanks to its status as a department of the Sea Fisheries Institute in Gdynia, which is the oldest institution in Poland conducting marine research, the Gdynia Aquarium is able to present the country's most intriguing exhibits of animals reared in captivity.

The Gdynia Aquarium, which became an official zoological garden in 2005, has exhibits that represent the world's four main biotopes. These include a coral reef, the ocean depths, the thick Amazon tropics, and the Baltic Sea. Residents of these regions are housed on all three floors of the Aquarium in 68 different aquarium exhibits. The aquarium tanks range in volume from 200 to 10,000 liters, and they provide homes to over 1,500 animals representing about 250 species.
